Public Speaking

Our ‘Public Speaking’ competitions help members to gain confidence at presenting and talking to large audiences and groups of people. The competitions help members gain debating skills as they voice their opinions and speak confiedently.

Winners from the various competitions have the opportunity of going forward to represent Radnor at a Wales and National level.

The number of public speaking competitions is rather large so here in Radnor we hold 2 days and 1 evening of the competitions. These can include Junior Reading, Junior Public Speaking, Junior & Senior Member of the Year, Situation Vaccant, The Brainstrust competition, Call my Bluff, On the News, Just a Minute, Senior After Dinner Speaking and Senior Debating.

This year Radnor YFC held the Junior Reading Competition, Junior & Senior Member of the Year and Situations Vaccant at the Strand Hall, Builth Wells on the 5th of November. There was a fantastic entry in the Junior Reading where 12 teams competed.
